Without Trace

Without Trace is an exhilarating thriller that transports readers to Bishop, California as Sierra Phantom struggles to find meaning and community for himself in life with an address. Journalist Danielle Nadler joins Sierra Phantom on his quest as they both come face to face with life after losing an elderly person who has lived alone for 50 years in the wilderness – eventually developing weekly conversations that reveal his softer heart that has survived great personal tragedy.

Without a Trace is a high-quality production, yet its depictions of violence may cause young viewers to become distressed. Parents can use the show as an opportunity to discuss rare instances depicted on it and what steps might be taken to ensure kids remain safe.

Without a Trace was created and produced by Hank Steinberg and Jerry Bruckheimer and ran on CBS from September 26, 2002 until May 19, 2009. It followed a missing persons unit run by FBI agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia). Set within the same universe as CSI and Cold Case, one episode saw Gil Grissom from CSI work alongside Jack Malone from Without a Trace on cases.

Simon Booker is an award-winning TV writer who has contributed his writing talents to hit shows like Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Holby City and Mrs Bradley Mysteries. Writing his first thriller novel was an entirely different experience than writing for television; “the process of developing characters and dialogue was much more personal,” according to him.

Each Other

Mark Murphy returns after an eleven year hiatus from theatre with his brand new show Out of This World – a full-on theatre production combining aerial choreography with breathtaking special effects and medical drama. Starring Sarah Swire (Scott Hoatson from Potted Potter: The Recovery Position and The Recovery Position) along with multi-talented performers Alex Palmer (28 Days Later and Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire) and Itxaso Moreno from Citizen’s Theatre amongst others – who all contribute their talents!

Robert Burns wrote a poem entitled Each Other that captures all the emotions and feelings experienced between two individuals who have fallen in love with each other. Out of This World

Murphy created her final work for V-TOL as her most complex one yet, weaving movement, text and music together into an intricate web of movement, text and musical layers to produce vivid imagery and an intense drama.

Thanks to an Arts for Everyone National Lottery award this production marked V-TOL’s inaugural use of live music in their production; composed by Graham Cunnington (Test Dept) and performed live by three musicians (the soundtrack drove action while also reflecting and complementing characters’ innermost feelings).

The Finale

Theater audiences know that a “finale” is the final flourish at the end of any performance, such as singing or dancing at an end-of-show showdown. A finale can take many forms: from songs or dance sequences, to dramatic musical pieces or any combination thereof. No matter its form, however, its purpose remains the same – to engage audience members and draw them in for the entire show! In fact, its pronunciation often rhymes with alley, giving rise to its name!

Mark Murphy is a globally celebrated visionary who creates world-class theatre, outdoor spectacle and international ceremonies. He has written, directed and choreographed numerous genre-defying shows while combining his skills as writer, designer, filmmaker and choreographer – some of the most innovative theatre events have come out of his work – like Out Of This World (medical drama with projected film and animation).

Murphy’s show features a cast of talented performers renowned for performances like Potted Potter and The Recovery Position. Sarah Swire of Northern Stage and RSC dance has joined Scott Hoatson from 28 Days Later/Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire fame as Ellen Jones in this production. Catherine Cusack from Coronation Street/Doctor Who fame as well as Itxaso Moreno from National Theatre/Citizen’s Theatre are also included among these performers.

Each Other is an exhilarating theatre piece that seamlessly merges groundbreaking aerial work with emotive medical drama. The performance combines elements of Robert Lepage’s gravity-resistant theatre and David Lynch’s enigmatic symbolism into a compelling whole that’s sure to provoke thought and debate. Although ambition occasionally seems outstrip ability at certain points in performance, but overall its effect is captivating and thought provoking.
